I'm a pro-immigration grandson of four legal immigrants from the turn of the 19th century. But illegal immigrants are called "dreamers" or merely "undocumented," the inherent disrespect for the basic notions of sovereign borders and the rule of law infuriates even me.
I think the DREAM act wasn't/isn't a bad concept. Initially grant legal residency, require education, no moral turpitude style crimes, grant legal permanent residency. Ayes, and eventual path to citizenship stemming out of their LPR status (5 years).
