Today marks 8 weeks since @benjaminwittes declared, in response to a post of mine, that he wasn't alarmed by the plight of the U.S. citizen being detained by the U.S. as an "enemy combatant," w/o access to counsel or a court:

Is there anything besides norms and family contact via ICRC that prevents the gov't from not even disclosing the fact that US citizen is held? Current position seems absurd enough, but even if courts resolve this case, next time they might not say anything?
