The Indian government has apparently approved Lopinavir/Ritonavir as an emergency treatment for serious cases of death sniffles. That’s the same stuff some people want to trial at 50 hospitals here (alongside chloroquine).

If it turns out this drug combo is effective at preserving the lives of the vulnerable, and assuming we can ramp up stocks to sufficient levels, wouldn’t that mean we can all go back to work and the worst risk will be us healthy people might get sick for a week or two?

I’m wondering why I’m not hearing more about this. I’ve read a couple of press conference transcripts with health authorities and nobody is really asking them about this. It’s weird.

Well, it'll be quite a while till we know enough to administer it widely, no? Talking about it a lot will reduce adherence to social isolation. So there's a responsibility angle.
