Totally happy to see racist platforms like Gab shrivel up and die, but uneasy about payment processors being the arbiters and instruments of their death.

Understandable. But is there currently any other realistic way?

Grouping in hosting, registrars, etc in with payment processors. Especially registrars seem at least as critical.

Some of these things are not like the others. Alibaba Cloud is a substitute for Amazon and Azure, and colo space is a global commodity, but VISA and MasterCard are global monopolies which tightly police processors.

That's largely a question of degree. To my knowledge most of the payment processors have made de-platforming decisions independently from the CC companies. There's a number of processors. There's not that many globally distributed hosters either.
