What I don't understand is that if you make up bogus forensics, why not make up shit that's at least somewhat credible on a first look? That whole download rate argument was obvious utter BS.

I don’t think it was ever supposed to fool you or me; it was “permission to believe” for those predisposed to imagine a cover up. I was just surprised at the folks who should have known better & gave it their imprimatur.

There's a pretty large part of the tech sphere who desperately want to believe in the portrayed picture. They'd have loved to be swayed by the arguments, even if not fact based. But yea, that they found people to go on the record supporting this analysis is the sad part.
