There was a 9-0 Supreme Court decision on this last year rejecting the Trump admin's case and restricting the reasons for de-naturalization https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-court-citizenship/supreme-court-sets-higher-bar-for-stripping-citizenship-idUSKBN19D1RJ …https://twitter.com/summerbrennan/status/1014492923650441216 …

Replying to @thomaswright08 @Otpor17
This is good news, but why create the task force and why would the admin follow the law? The break it and then hope the law is changed

The case didn't make it impossible to de-naturalize. Just made it harder, and required that false statements etc be material. And it's not that easy to defend yourself, so I'd assume there'd be plenty of people who just are forced to accept it :(

Right that’s what i figured. Go for the most vulnerable. Wouldn’t be shocked if they find some security reason to do it. Like those from the banned Muslim countries

I don't see how that'd work, legally. The whole security reasoning for the muslimban works because there's an explicit exception in the INA giving the president a lot of authority. Additionally non-citizens that are not present in the US (e.g. visa seekers) have few rights.

Whereas people facing de-naturalization have "all" rights. But I'm not a lawyer, so take this with more than a grain of salt.
