This brings us to why -- if reports are true -- Cohen's attorneys might be quitting. It could be money. So! Someone may give up and cooperate because it is prohibitively expensive to defend a sophisticated white-collar federal investigation. GO TEAM USA

Obviously this is fairly insane, and I have no interest defending the US system. But in this case, isn't this partially self inflicted? It's not like Cohen couldn't have foreseen that very little would be judged as privileged, and he could have used the money for actual defense?
