    The European Commission president had quite the trip. Ignoring Palestinians. Signing an energy agreement without a ‘differentiation clause’ excluding the OPT as required by EU decisions and UNSCR 2334, and now to cap off…treating East Jerusalem as Israeli territory.

    To my knowledge this is the 1st time since 2013 that the EU has signed an agreement with Israel without any territorial clause excluding the OPT. Can Israeli settlements benefit from investments relating to carbon capture? Can Israel exploit and export Palestinian gas reserves?

    Shame on 6 EU countries incl. Germany and Netherlands for signing onto this statement. Israel/Palestine needs more UN human rights scrutiny and accountability, not less - in particular with the UN Security Council blocked by US vetoes.

    Today I delivered a joint statement on behalf of the United States and 21 countries expressing deep concern about the open-ended Commission of Inquiry. The nature of the COI is further demonstration of disproportionate treatment of Israel at the HRC. ➡️

    Settlements have ruined the Oslo accords. 29 years after their signing, Oslo starts labelling settlement products. Too little too late but at least something.

    In January, the occupation police raided one of the towns in my area and with a truck ran over and killed Suleiman Hathlin, an activist for freedom in Masafer Yatta. Today, settlers destroyed his tomb. The hatred and racism continues even after his death.
