Heck, let's bring back "strident". Warren is strident. Ocasio-Cortez is strident. Harris is even strident, I think (need input on that). I'll vote for strident!

Kamala Harris is brilliant and steady.

And gives great face. The looks she gives, when someone is lying, dissembling, full out not giving the whole story is priceless.pic.twitter.com/a8eqV7KowG

The 'oh really now' look.
-
Mixed with, "I can't believe, you have the nerve...to lie to me!"

That seems to be starting from an assumed position of unlikability. Which may likely be argued, but I don't think the women running should be the ones doing the, "I am not a witch," talk as they announce their candidacy.
-
I disagree. It’s simply getting out ahead of and undercutting MSM’s obsession with “likability”, especially with women. It’s a declaration that they put the issues first and a demand to focus on them.
-
I think it's the political equivalent to a "how often do you beat your wife?" style of loaded question. To expect and pre-answer the assumed criticism inherently legitimizes it. It puts one in a position of defending an accusation that hasn't happened, which is then assumed true.
-
The problem is that, effectively, it is true. I hear exactly the same vague criticism of Warren as I did Hillary. Even from guys who exactly share her political views. When I ask the same guys if there’s ANY female politician they like, they can’t think of any.

Yes, this, & Tom, a lot of men only hear in baritone, so talk, and loudly.

Shouldn’t EVERY candidate say this despite their gender???
-
Women are the ones held immediately and steadfastly to the “likability” factor and society at large does not find powerful women likeable.
-
There are those of us who judge candidates on the intelligence and their stance on issues. There are those of us who hold any candidate in high regard,no matter their race, color or gender. That should always be paramount. We are the ones who fight to make sure everyone is heard.
-
Right that's why I was speaking about society at large, as is the OP. Some of us can be fabulous individuals but that alone isn't gonna end systemic issues.
-
Very true....

Also if we could fire and blacklist any journalist or editor reporting on likeability that would be great
