That’s a common immature teenager analogy ... I used to use that one in high school when I was ignorant to how the world functioned. If you rely on safety you should never leave your house... risk/reward doesn’t care about your feelings.

The quote is in response to a business that was trying to prevent the local legislature from passing requlations. By “liberty” Ben meant the freedom for the people to control their government, and “safety” meant profits. Guess which side Elon is on.
