That the etymology of science comes from a root word meaning "knowledge" is especially infuriating to me because the most fundamental fields of science are less about knowledge and more about modelling.

might just be a national culture thing I suppose, in Australia pretty sure if I say "modern" most people will assume I mean "after cars replaced horses"
