People will say things that may hurt, annoy, or offend you. This may or may not be on purpose. Instead of constantly expecting the insult; do not attribute to malice what can be attributed to stupidity; grow a thicker skin.
But would you not say that the mind of a man, whether it is conscious or unconscious or subconscious or supraconscious, is part of him? Would it then not be the case that he is both acting (upon himself) and being acted upon (by himself)?

I find myself agreeing. The mind is a part of the Self. But if the mind is able to act upon us, can we ever truly be in control of ourselves? I feel there is something obvious that I am missing, my ideas do not feel complete. I need to delve deeper into the literature and ideas
