Once Nationalism takes a hold we need a special council investigating the phenomena of self-described Anglo-Saxon Muslim 'traditionalists.' Mandatory castration has its obvious benefits.https://twitter.com/NorthernWilayah/status/1054897557342773254 …

Islam is the gayest variant of Abrahamism and breeds stupidity wherever it goes. It's the ultimate 'bumper sticker' religion, where complicated concepts are dumbed down for the lowest common denominator. Even the Incarnation perplexes them

Which Muslim philosophers, poets and mystics have you read?

'Mystics,' please. If you're going to go the Sufi route then you're engaging in ad hoc argumentation. You might as well come at me with Alawi as an example of 'good Muslims' but we're not dealing with syncretists, we're talking about Islam at its Sunni core.

Fine, if you wish to exclude all sufis, which is strange, for it would be to seperate the esoteric from the exoteric, then what about the philosophers and poets, who aren't sufi, which have you read?

It's not a separation from exoteric/esoteric since Sufism is a distinct branch of Islam. Unless you're claiming to me Mohammad was a Sufi mystic from Arabia? I'll presuppose the secular understanding that Sufism emerged either with foreign influence or as an evolution.

Ah, but why would you take the secular understanding as a presupposition? Sufis proud themselves on their meticulously recorded chains of tradition back to the Prophet, no?

Yeah & Joseph Smith believed his tradition was handed down to him by an extant American Israelite soldier. If I don't presuppose secularist views, then why not just assume Mormonism? This is a problem of all revealed religions. Basic epistemology- where do I start from?

Study the doctrine, see if it is orthodox
