Let's make #IndianScienceCongress a meaningful platform to discuss both science and critical issues facing S&T in India. It is a wonderful platform but needs reforms. @anilgb @rameshmashelkar @AnantBhan https://twitter.com/DailyO_/status/1080939394842984451 …

Oh, what a mistake ! We should read Mahabharata again, because for sure, they might have something to tackle Malnutrition and for prevention of childhood diseases that our children are facing today ! When and where is next Indian ‘Science’ Congress ?!

It's perplexing how these statements surface every year at the time of the ISC. What was the speaker aiming to achieve? Utterly demoralising to people doing honest work.

Students mostly I think. Our UG teachers took the final year students every year. About 30k people attend so not a trivial number.

Sacred texts are for the subjective interpretation of the world. There is no utility in objectification of texts to conform to the rational scientific laws. The subjective realm is a lot more complex and mysterious as stated by many great philosophers.

We are so infatuated with the past (historical or mythological) that we do not feel the need to do research for the future. And this is why India will remain a follower and never a leader in the world.
