I'm interested in Peterson because of the way that his entire project consists of straw-man arguments that are taken at face value by his audience, because those arguments appeal to them emotionally.
-
Looking his success gives you real insight into how people come to believe so vehemently in ideologies that do not survive under the littlest bit of scrutiny.
-
If you want to get a good overview on the criticism of his work, you could do worse than watching the contra points video and/or reading nathan robinson's stuff in current affairs
-
Wow, thank you for these recommendations!

Jordan Peterson is important to learn about if you care about the rise of misogyny fueled violence and radical anti-feminism/anti-woman ideology among young men.
-
although I voted for blockchain, this is a fair point.

Blockchain, but only because the massive power usage associated with cryptocurrency will have a notable effect on fossil fuel demands and associated climate problems

I’d pick Jordan for two reasons. 1. I think he’s too relevant a figure in the cultural landscape to simply be ignored. 2. General coverage of him thus far has been of pitiful quality—he’s a complex guy all said and done. So I’d think you’d do a better job than most others.
-
I’ve noticed that most of his critics have not read his books, taken or watched his lectures. They have no time for that. They watch sound bites or snippets of interviews. He’s actually deeply impacted my outlook on life, for the better.

Blockchain, cause it's chuck full of tech-bros trying to bring our species to extinction through burning a single household's monthly supply of energy per single very slow supposedly financial transaction.
-
As
@Theophite aptly described it: "imagine if keeping your car idling 24/7 produced solved Sudokus you could trade for heroin"

I would say
@EricaChenoweth and@MariaJStephan s work on non violent resistance movements will help you more than either of these. :-/Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
