To be clear: Nobody doubts that to do what Facebook pretends it wants to do in terms of cracking down on bogus info would be difficult. And I think that’s fine. If Mark Zuckerberg said “addressing the misinformation problem would make the company less profitable and so I prefer not to do it” I wouldn’t be yelling about this constantly. It’s business. I get it. But he wants a nice-guy halo he doesn’t deserve.
