        Grew up stuck inside cuz my parents didn’t want me to get darker cuz then no one would want me. Such shame and fear in something so natural and Fair & Lovely plays into that fear. Sad he couldn’t recognize that in your conversation.

        Fascinating exchange. His answer was basically if we don't sell this product someone else will, which is the same argument made by sellers of toxic products everywhere. Also that this is a trivial issue (a mere "faucet"), which of course it is to a European male.

        The point about this being no different from any cosmetic has some truth to it. Cosmetics, weight loss, fashion - all exploit women's insecurities about their appearance.

        Can’t blame him. Its a revenue stream driven by the demand coming from the society. If Unilever pulls out, some other brand will replace it. Will have to wait untill the mindset of consumers changes.

        Do you think these guys understand what you're saying? I know they're just programmed to respond with the PR line and it's not that complicated of an idea, BUT it is worldview and personal narrative shaking, and it's not clear to me that these folks have actually listened yet.

        Honestly, never thought about the fact that corporations with leaders on boards not representing markets it serve, was even an issue. I hope companies like @brandless as they grow, don’t make the same errors.
