There is something important and overlooked in Kavanaugh's claimed, and disputed, virginity.

A big part of it is they define sex, real sex, as being with someone they respect, someone sanctioned by society and family. What happened before, whether in school or with prostitutes, doesn't count to them. They deny basic reality to feel that they are complying with tradition.

And so when I see Kavanaugh, I think of the men I have reported on in the past who saw all women before their wife as "not counting," and who often felt free to treat them however they wished because it wasn't really sex and wasn't even real in their twisted imagination.

Also, there’s an everything-but-intercourse definition of virginity held in some religious circles. There are people who would not find grinding against a passed out girl as problematic as an actual healthy sexual relationship. Don’t want someone like that on the Supreme Court
