What kind of critic doesn’t feel grateful for the right to criticize? What kind of gratitude hoards its blessings instead of fighting to give others more cause to be grateful?

This is the empty positivity cult that business culture seeks to spread. It is a bad ethic that reinforces power. In the book I write about Thought Leader Adam Grant’s related idea that the best way to seek justice is not think too much about the perp.pic.twitter.com/fXhmrNA0LC

A French journalist once told me, “I finally understood something about America. In America, business isn’t just your economy. It’s your culture.”

In recent years, as inequality yawned and anger swelled, big business and its thought leaders waged a powerful campaign to conquer our culture with their ideas. Ideas that favor power: don’t complain, don’t worry who did it, focus on solutions, this is the best time to be alive.

@DanSchawbel Then how do you raise children? The word “complain” is presumptuous and myopic at once: to challenge one’s country is to be a citizen, to expect from it and seek for it that excellence which is the cause of one’s love. That’s several logical removes from complaint! Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

The idiocy of Shawbel's statement is staggering. It's also dishonest, which like most self-help happiness fads, drives the 'let's all be grateful' movement. Also, the next person who tells me they're grateful gets blocked.

That's not very correct.grateful because of the inherent compassion we have within us.criticising because of our inherent intension to see everything in this world through a glass of' transparency & justice for all'.
