About to dive into your book (I had two books arrive on the same day, one a final book in a series). I am guessing you will address how this philanthropy is also never guided by those of us who need it, but rather with a paternalistic attitude that they know best what we need.

I work in the non profit development world. I would say a related problem is that there is just not enough personal/foundation philanthropy to make a dent in the big issues. It can be helpful for short term help but long term and people and government have to make big changes.
