I’m sitting in a famous casual restaurant that has its own charity. An employee is told they don’t need her this PM. She protests: But you keep cutting my hours, changing them. Manager: Yeah, we won’t need you. The charity is great. But maybe first don’t jerk workers around.

There is a pamphlet on the table making extensive reference to social justice and overcoming oppression. But that worker did leave in tears.
