Look at that beautiful swirl! That's a real image of a new planet forming (magnified on the right) at the intersection of two waves around the infant star AB Aurigae. Taken by the SPHERE instrument on the Very Large Telescope.

Meanwhile, been delivering 3d printed face shields & ear savers to our local hospitals & other facilities. It's taken me a couple weeks to gather the supplies and people to assemble and distribute. I thought this would be too slow, but no magic PPE have arrived from elsewhere.

Meanwhile, some MPE: mirror protective equipment. These shields protect the 6" primary mirrors of the Analog Sky Swift giant space binoculars and give the fabric shroud its shape. Both printed on MINI.

Lol, not a headband! First layer was fine 😅 Sometimes this happens with prints and shows why remote monitoring isn't a bad idea. Nice skirt though, huh?

The Prusa MINI can have a little giant space binocular parts, as a treat. It's well-outstripped the other printers in making face shield parts, so overnight, the MINI started making its first tertiary mirror assembly. Looking beautiful!

how did the Universe begin? while we still don’t have a great way to describe the singularity of the Big Bang other than saying *it happened*, we can talk about what happens mere moments after the Big Bang. let's walk through, step by step, the beginnings of the Universe.

The Large Magellanic Cloud, the Milky Way’s biggest satellite galaxy. It lies 163,000 light-years away and is about 1/10th the size of our galaxy, with 10 billion solar masses. The pink star forming region above center is the Tarantula Nebula. Image: Luke Dodd

Who else is getting good at removing prints from the build plate and bagging them with one hand, so you don't have to put on two gloves? 😂

Yes sir. We'll also donate 500 lbs (roughly 1500 sheets) of clear PET film. Its all going to be pre-cut to Prusa's face shield size.

filament purge getting caught on the print or nozzle, no bed level check, no nozzle cleanup, no washing the glue off build plates... enclosure would be kid/pet safe and then stick a fork in household 3dp. Guess I need 50 of these and a few mk3s.

just grab a handful of printed stiffener clips, no cleanup (since the prints are perfect), toss them in a bag, remove my gloves, press the "reprint" button and walk away. No extra settings to set, no glue, no scraping build plates, no firmware weirdness, no worrying about the 2/
