The joy of when the distribution/production companies are different for sequels! There's nothing more annoying than Netflix having all the sequels and not the original you want to watch; lol.

I like that even if they recast a ton of the characters they keep trying to age the characters. It would be so easy to just send Chuck against another kid, or horny teens, or space. But its the story of how this one doll ruins the life of this one guy. Kudos.

It feels very Ellen Ripley-esque, and I like that.

Different owners—first movie is MGM, then Universal did sequels First is really, really worth it imo; it's not like you don't actually know what's up, but it has a suspenseful buildup that sequels just couldn't do, because there was nothing left to reveal

There was a point to Child's Play besides "killer in the body of a doll"? (I saw Bride of Chucky and then the first one, in that order, and declined to pay attention ever again)
-
Well, no, but the "killer in the body of a doll" was the point and the remake is just a malfunctioning robot, which loses all the chaotic fun.

Watch Curse Of Chucky if you can, Fiona Dourif's Nica is one of my all time favorite horror characters.pic.twitter.com/rTsuPqvwqk
