    We just bought a small business in August. Husband works in a federal prison. This shutdown has the potential to compromise not only our household, but my shop, too. Quarterly taxes are due on the 20th. Meanwhile trying to balance personal bills. This is ludicrous.

    Anyway reminder that federal workers are, largely, not the distant elites of DC. They live all over. They protect, investigate, monitor, aid, build, clean, prevent, invent, and heal. They’re Americans. Almost a million of them expected a paycheck and can’t get another.

    I’m grateful you are serving in this capacity too - we finally have someone in charge who will put our country’s national security interest above that of his political party...and who has the courage to actually perform his constitutional responsibility.

    At this critical time in our history I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve as Chairman of the Intelligence Committee. And I'm mindful of the great responsibility that goes with it. We will do our constitutional duty, and put the rule of law and our nation's security first.

    Humbled daily by the outpouring of support here. The day after Christmas, my family and I went out to breakfast at Wild Eggs. After, the server said that our meal was graciously paid for another customer who wrote this on the back of check.

    Hey Donald, get a high school teacher to explain tariffs to you. Your tariffs seize money from US citizens when you push your Trump Tariff Tax. It is working class Americans and farmers who get hurt the most.

    The United States Treasury has taken in MANY billions of dollars from the Tariffs we are charging China and other countries that have not treated us fairly. In the meantime we are doing well in various Trade Negotiations currently going on. At some point this had to be done!
