Currently in the process of revisiting some favourites in my Blu-ray collection and have just rewatched ’s wonderful 2013 film Belle. ’s performance is so moving and I love ’s score. A powerful story, superbly told.

Amma Asante’s BELLE is a rare perfect film. It had elegant direction, an excellent script, a great ensemble led by the brilliant Gugu Mbatha Raw and stellar production values especially costumes & Rachel Portman’s original score.
It deserved Oscars. Or at least the nominations.
