Further: most columnists, indeed most journalists, are more or less permanent celebrity-tempted teenagers, albeit with high SAT scores. So ask yourself whether media members belong on pedestals.

Honestly, a willingness to learn matters more than guild credentials for good journalism. I.e. accounting matters, but not whether you have the degree.
