Yes. And do you think they should fire the flight attendant? Or press criminal charges? Or perhaps it's enough punishment that she has to live with herself after this. It's very sad that the passenger obeyed; nobody watching had the sense to say hang on, don't do that?!
A million $ at least should go to the family of the puppy in the overhead bin--the dam and sire hounds have been wronged irreparably. United must pay. (i.e., wrong shouldn't always translate into jackpot for random parties)

Good thing it was not a government airline. They would have denied fault, raised ticket prices, hired more people without solving or addressing the problem.
