#chicago7--- Tom Hayden come to life again.. Researching Great Society, discovered 1960s student/activists didn't all materialize from nowhere; many were funded (Hayden, early) by the United Auto Workers. The union fell for Hayden type charm and was appalled by what it begat.

Unions, at least the private industry trade unions, are conservative in one particular way: they don’t want to destroy the system so much as extract more from it. This is why I do not understand the Dems’ current efforts to revitalize private unions with CA AB5-type measures.
