Great Depression happened only after America became super entangled in international trade, right? America has huge bread basket capable of enormous economic centralization. When a slump happens, fed govt must act SUPER decisively - but no one trusts it enough. Not local enough.

Power results in market distortion via uncompetitive systems. Hayekian ideals are ahistorical and as we have gotten close anti democratic. We need balance, progressive capitalism is what will save the market oh and the planet.
