It was a major plank of the President’s campaign. It remains a supposed priority to him. He speaks about it frequently. It is worse now than when he was elected. Is this not newsworthy?

Fair points, politically speaking. Economically speaking, her point is, this metric is a near-meaningless indicator of a nation's prosperity. Political incentives and posturing keep it on politician's lips, and journalistic ignorance keeps it in the news.

That is not answerable in a tweet. lol But it makes the us economy weaker wo QE from the fed. Trump not supporting stimulus in combination with this is not positive for the economy. Making it more difficult for the next administration. My take on it anyway.
