I wish I could put in words exactly what it is about Doris Day's singing to which I'm allergic. I know she's a very good singer with great pipes, but there's something about the sound she makes that I find all but impossible to stomach.

She has a very resonate voice. If she were an electric guitar she'd have maybe too much reverb? Too fat a tone? I think I know what you mean.
