My Dad died in '78 when I was a senior in HS. I worked 25-48 hours a week at a fast food restaurant. I reached a point where my SSDI would be cut if I made more money (saving for college!). Had to give Boss a choice: pay me under table or I quit. Wrong incentive then, wrong now.

Someone should make a list of all the laws and regulations that have the opposite effect of the one "intended." At some point, we should realize that the actual consequences were exactly what was intended.
