Worse - Authorities will now see "public health" as the route to power. The drive to ensure public health will be used in the same way "For the Children" has been used in the past. The unassailable argument for which there can be no debate or discussion.
They always have seen "public health" as their route to power. 
It doesn't even have to be a "new disease" it could just be at their whim... and people will lick their boots and praise our overlords for keeping us "safe"
Or they decide to declare a "climate emergency".

True. At the same time, images of Americans by the thousands enjoying the first weekend of summer show that the authorities are seen as irrelevant. Gov. Whitler and others seem like buzzing gnats. A nuisance to be swatted away.
