That’s the point of @AmityShlaes’ tweet: absolute safety is unattainable. Indefinite lockdown is suicidal. We must unlock- with caution, but also with courage. The only way is through.
"We will reopen when it is safe to do so." No: "We will reopen when it is less risky to do so." The fiction of absolutes is so misleading.
