People often miss that the much reviled Hayekian "planners" are nationalistic populists as often as socialists. The former are much more destructive because they tend to be much more aggressive & stupid.
"The Roundtable to Serfdom" would be a good alternate title for "Great Society," my book. What happens when planners get together at the top. But the phrase is taken, offered by Larry Lindsey in markets commentary.
