Assume you are talking about the Civil War when you said "there was this whole war". The Civil War was about state's rights about the issue of slavery. And when and where was this "large group with tiki torches"? I have tiki torches but I only use them for late night parties.

You really don't know much do you? Do you understand how political parties work? Dems back then were Conservatives and Republicans were Liberals. You forgot that Dems also ended segregation, Jim Crow, shunned the KKK and fought for Civil Rights in general.......
