All for transparency but celebrating measures like this helps obscure the fact that health care doesn't function like a regular market and rates negotiated between insurance co's and hospitals are considered proprietary information.

And even if health care did function like a regular market, "God's work" would be helping people get the health care they need, not figure out if they can afford it.

Excellent! It would also be helpful that any facility post miscellaneous surcharges that they tack on to run up the bill. 6 stitches cost me $2000 last year... and I had to remind the doctor to wash out the wound before sewing me up(chatty). SMDH
