Whom do you say has turned because of the premium? Do you agree that there are also costs associated with turning? That those who turn on principle still support some GOP policies on merit? That there is a premium from continued unprincipled GOP loyalty as principled others turn?
There's a real premium, financial, in turning against the GOP if you are known as a GOP loyalist. Not everyone turns because of the premium, but readers should be aware of that. And BTW, not everyone who supports individual GOP policies is a loyalist! This is a merit question.
