My God, the Bunny Roger thread truly is The Thread That Wouldn't Die, isn't it. I feel weirdly proud of him for that, even though I've no idea how this got revived a year later. (And I still don't know why there's no movie, guys! I'm sorry! I have no control over these things!)

No, but apparently that IS based on a true story also, of an OSS commando team dressed in drag to infiltrate Nazi territory & steal the Enigma machine. (Then the Allies cracked the code, so the mission was, um, pointless. Good thought, though)

This only goes to prove that drag queens are some of the hardest people on earth.

Sounds amazing, any good books on him?
-
No full-length biographies (can you BELIEVE that?), but he met everyone who was anyone, so he drifts in & out of a lot of other people's memoirs (no one EVER forgot him). But there is a full chapter on him in Philip Mann's The Dandy At Dusk.

What comes up immediately in Google is fascinating! I'm surprised not to know of him. Thanks!

He also said would only go into battle with a copy of Vogue under his arm, and wearing a shiffon scarf.
