3/ The key frontline in this war is to protect lives & minds to protect democratic, secular, multi-faith, politically stable and secure polities. We are doing it in Kenya with devolution's investment in the grassroots (over $10 billion in the last decade);

2/ I was proud to point to Kenya's growing inter-faith religious work that's pushing back Al Qaeda's & #AlShabaab anti-humanity ideology. I encouraged civil society to stand up against Jihadist extremism as anti-democratic, anti-people, and fascistic.

1/ Privileged to speak to at the #5YearsStrong celebration of @Strong_Cities on the sidelines of #UNGA. Spoke of Kenya's 47 County Actions Plans, the most comprehensive local-driven structuring of #CVE; of the 100s in our disengagement pipeline that covers every corner of Kenya

The #AlShabaab terrorists will continue to be hunted with no quarter given by our security forces. I urge every Kenyan to learn more about how to spot radicalisation & report it immediately. If you see something, say something

On this day in 2013, fanaticism was visited on our country at #Westgate. We honour those who lost their lives on that day. And recall that as much as evil was present, Kenyans responded with heroism, sacrifice, kindness and generosity. They can hurt us but cannot crush our spirit

Today we honour the victims of #AlQaeda on #September11. Al Qaeda started the journey to 9/11 in 1998 by bombing @USAmbKenya. They were underestimated & 9/11 happened. Never forget.
