Some US politicians, like Mr. Pompeo, did not care about the epidemic, nor the disaster that the American people may suffer. They only care about their own interests and win the election.
The warning signs couldn't have been clearer. They're ignored & downplayed for months by incompetent US administration, which caused enormous crisis.
