One more thought on Williamson’s awful op-ed. He says he wants "reducing and mitigating the violence”. This is disingenuous in the extreme, and not just because he advocated violence to control women.

If Williamson opposed violence, he would speak out against the view that women’s bodies belong to men, to used against our will for breeding or sexual purposes.

The anti-choice view is inherently violent. It sees forced childbirth — a painful, life-altering, body-altering, sometimes deadly event — as due punishment for female sexual autonomy. Williamson’s call to hang women who choose against childbirth exposed that.

Plus, the fact that Williamson and other anti-choicers reject the known way to reduce abortion rates — free, female-controlled contraception to anyone who wants it — tells the whole story.

What antis are doing is pure projection. They imagine their intended victims (women) are violent, in order to justify their vicious desire to control our bodies, our sexualities, and our lives.

It is, in fact, possible to distinguish the evil view that men have a right to demand sex, from the normal and healthy view that humans should be protected from violence, regardless of their age or level of development.
