When I wrote about Florida teachers being forced to lock up all their books, I was dogpiled by right wingers accusing me of making it all up. I was not.

Now the Washington Post is coming in with the same story (originator: ). And here's the photographic evidence that teachers are being forced to cover up books so students can't even see them.

New details that just prove that the goal was making sure kids simply don't read: The "school media specialist" can only allow books after a "retraining" — which wasn't even on offer until January.
The point is wrapping books in so much red tape that kids can't ever open them.

I’m sorry you were dogpiled and more sorry that our polite society makes it feel like it’s your fault when it happens. Those people are unhinged and consistently wrong.

Thanks! Mostly it's just that I run out of energy blocking people. 🤷♀️

You cited trustworthy sources and had ample evidence. Nothing to be ashamed of.

How do they NOT know? This is their THING! They've pushed for this authoritarian regime for years, decades even. Now it's happening & they say it's not. Wholly unsurprising on gopmagar's part.

As a much younger man, when I read books of a dystopian future, such as Farenheit 451, I never thought I would be living in one.

Well, we don't want our children to get too smart, otherwise, it might ruin this future 👇🏼

I’m gonna have to play devils advocate here. Was it one or a handful of counties who interpreted the language this way? My district did this w/classroom libraries during Covid (shared materials) but only a few counties of the 67 had that take on the Governor’s orders.
