I agree but I would also like to chime in with a gentle reminder that some disabilities can't be evened out on the same playing field with accommodation and the social accomodation = thriving model leaves a lot of us behind.

I don't disagree with your basic premise, but your analogy to corrective lenses is flawed as it a personal piece of equipment and usually personally financed. The term accommodation is usually applied to asking someone else to make an accommodation and investment for another.
