With the passing of John Lewis, America has lost not only a man of history, but a man for our season; O how we need such men of unwavering principle, unassailable character, penetrating purpose, and heartfelt compassion.

NOPE. If we are casually including “template letter for death of student, teacher” as a BULLET POINT on reopening memos, then not only is it not safe to reopen, but every educator in America should be prepared to refuse to return. This is disgusting and terrifying.

It really didn't have to be like this. This is a devastating reminder of how important it is to invest in government (talent, systems, programs - all of it), hire and elect strong leaders, and hold them accountable when they fail.

This is awesome. We aren’t living in a siloed world, so I love that we’re innovating to address that.

The “best time” to do a startup is when you have a better solution for an important problem, often catalyzed by a big change in the world. That can be economic change. The launch of the iPhone. The growth of the web. New social norms. Changes to workstyles. That’s what matters.

If there's a massive infrastructure bill soon, it should include $$ for digital infrastructure. Streamline unemployment, tax filings, DMV, biz registration, etc The very poor execution of getting cash directly to biz/individuals shows digital infra just as important as physical

Our obligation, our moral imperative, is to save lives. If people are forced out of their homes too early and thousands or millions more people die because hospitals and health care providers are overwhelmed, there won't be an economy left to save.

Can someone please tweet back a link to open source code for PPEs that can be made on laser printers? Also please let me know what type of PPE can be made, what material is necessary and any other instructions for specifications.

[Taking off healthcare hat/putting on story nerd hat here] Does anyone else feel like this is a plausible origin story/prequel to Ready Player One? Where we all go to work and school and socialize while physically isolated? // cc:

When stocking up for ...If you see something labeled “WIC” please chose another brand. People who rely on WIC products to feed their kids cannot. We’re all in this together 🙏🏾

Between the chaos, the sudden shift to working at home for so many, and the overall overwhelm, might I suggest that this is the perfect time to apply Jane McGonigal's ( ) and add a little gamification to your life + household for max progress?

Anyone else feel like this press conference is the full-speed U-turn when you realize you've missed your exit? Looks like we're taking it seriously at the federal level now at least?

Q @ this press conference: Why did CDC guidance go from gatherings 50 people or fewer 24 hours ago to 10 people or fewer from the WH now? Fed: "We have a new model. The most effective tool is social distancing." // If you've been an unbeliever till now, it's time to let that go

Since this guy is conveniently located in Tennessee, maybe it’d be helpful to donate all this to the tornado recovery efforts that are woefully lacking supplies like this to keep volunteer cleanup sites safe.
