Anybody else really annoyed by those describing the work done by Stacey Abrams, et al, in Georgia as "magic"? It was HARD. WORK. It took years. And they succeeded. When men succeed it's never because they were "magic."

Yes, coming from white men (and women) it *is* problematic. And I don’t doubt it has been used by wm and ww. However, to full stop ask that it be removed from the conversation is detrimental to BW (and BM) who use it to uplift themselves, each other, and their work.

IOW, you as a ww, asking that it be removed from the conversation in place of words you deem better, rather than cautioning ww and wm on its specific use, does harm to BW and BM trying to uplift themselves. There should be some nuance here.
