#BlackGirlMagic - a phrase that Black people, especially Black women use to uplift themselves especially in times of hope and success. -
There's a division on that: https://www.elle.com/life-love/a33180/why-i-dont-love-blackgirlmagic/ … Coming from White people, specifically men, it very much feels like a way to remove agency regarding Black women's accomplishments.

Interesting, I def did not understand these nuances. I have described her work as a “miracle” in convos, but what I meant was that SHE did miraculously hard work. So I do think there are many who mean the phrase to GIVE credit rather than remove it

I hope so. But given its mostly high-profile men I’ve heard/seen using the word magic struck me as I cannot imagine that being used for a man. So many other words you could use, genius, astounding, impressive, diligent, etc.
