This surprised me. The date offered a great opportunity. On the other hand, there were many women of color in the roll call, & recognition throughout of the role indigenous people play in our past and present. Maybe one can’t blame a convention for trying to stay in the present?

At least closer than 100 years! All moves seem in part to remind you of where you are. Home. Like everyone else. Nothing yells present to many Americans right now like an empty classroom. (Now Kerry/Clinton/Powell a little less of the now.)

YES. There is no shortage of diverse women they could’ve highlighted tonight both on and off and protecting ballots as a more explicit way to mark a centennial.
