I’m not going to fault a paper for covering things its readers care about. And the erosion of our reputation abroad is very real and bigger than UWS au pairs. 
Au pair programs aren't just about child care but also cultural exchange. Au pairs are intended to have time to explore USA when they aren't working. I mean it's not parents' fault that COVID happened. If anything they should just send the kids home, but I'm not about to blame parents that the whole world shut down right after they arrived for their au pair job.

How can parents be blamed for an unexpected pandemic? This is not a 'bait & switch' situation. No one should be going out right now. Stay home, and wear a mask when absolutely have to go out to get supplies.
