An annoying slightly drunk woman once explained NASCAR to me in a DC bar while I was trying to watch an important ball game. She said it's all about the drivers. They cultivate loyal fans who follow them around like Deadheads. The drivers really care about their fans, she said.

I figured that, but you might also want to investigate the women in the game. There may be 1 or 2. As a fan, you're gonna have to buy their paraphernalia. I think that's a big part of their income.
